Turning Neurodiversity Awareness into Meaningful Action and Outcomes

Many organisations are already investing in neurodiversity awareness. The challenge is turning that awareness into meaningful action and measurable outcomes.

At Messy Minds, we help organisations unlock the potential of different minds by taking a practical, strategic approach to neurodiversity. We start by understanding what your organisation is trying to achieve, what's already in place and where the gaps are. We then work with you to identify and implement the solutions that will create the greatest impact.

Whether your focus is employee experience, leadership capability, retention, workplace wellbeing, client outcomes or organisational performance, our approach is designed to help you move from good intentions to meaningful results.

Below are some of the questions we're asked most often by organisations looking to strengthen their approach to neurodiversity.

Understanding Your Organisation

Is this right for our organisation?

Every organisation is different.

Some organisations come to us because they want to better support neurodivergent employees. Others are experiencing challenges around burnout, retention, workplace adjustments, performance or wellbeing. Some simply want to create a more inclusive workplace and be proactive rather than reactive.

That's why we always start with a conversation. Before recommending anything, we take time to understand your organisation, your people and your goals.

How do we know what support we need?

You don't need to know. That's our job.

We work with organisations at very different stages of their journey. Some have well-established neurodiversity initiatives, while others are just getting started.

We'll help you understand what's already working, where the gaps might be and what support is likely to have the biggest impact.

We already have neurodiversity initiatives. How does this fit in?

Many of the organisations we work with already have workplace adjustments, wellbeing programmes, employee networks or awareness training in place.

Our role isn't to replace what's already working. It's to build on it and help create support that is practical, sustainable and embedded within the organisation.

Is this suitable for all sectors?

Yes.

We've worked with organisations across financial services, education, retail, healthcare, technology, charities, public services and professional services.

The challenges may look different, but supporting neurodivergent people to thrive at work is relevant in every sector.

Supporting Neurodivergent Employees

How can Messy Minds help our people?

Our work is focused on helping people understand who they are, how they work and what they need.

We help organisations create environments where neurodivergent employees feel understood, valued and able to perform at their best.

What challenges do organisations typically come to you with?

Every organisation is different, but common themes include:

  • Burnout
  • Retention challenges
  • Workplace adjustments that aren't working
  • Managers lacking confidence
  • Misunderstandings between colleagues
  • Recruitment and talent attraction
  • Employee wellbeing
  • Building more neuro-inclusive cultures

Will this help reduce misunderstandings and burnout?

Often, yes.

When people feel understood and have access to the right support, challenges can be identified earlier and addressed before they become larger problems.

Does this improve retention and wellbeing?

People are more likely to stay in organisations where they feel understood, supported and able to be themselves.

Many organisations choose to invest in neurodiversity support because they want to improve both employee wellbeing and long-term retention.

How does this help attract neurodivergent talent?

People pay attention to how organisations support their employees.

Creating meaningful support for neurodivergent employees sends a strong message that your organisation values difference and wants people to succeed.

Building Internal Capability

What are In-House Neurodivergent Coaches?

In-House Neurodivergent Coaches are members of your organisation who have been trained to support colleagues using the Messy Minds coaching framework.

Because they already understand your culture, systems and ways of working, they can often provide practical and relevant support.

Why do organisations train their own coaches?

Training internal coaches builds capability within your organisation.

Instead of relying entirely on external support, organisations develop knowledge, skills and confidence that remain in-house and can continue benefiting employees long after training has finished.

Who can become an In-House Neurodivergent Coach?

There isn't a typical delegate.

Some organisations train people from HR, wellbeing, learning and development or leadership teams. Others include managers or employees with lived experience of neurodivergent conditions.

We'll help you identify who is best placed to take on the role within your organisation.

How many coaches should we train?

There isn't a one-size-fits-all answer.

The right number depends on the size of your organisation, your goals and the support already available.

We'll work with you to understand your organisation and recommend an approach that fits your needs.

What support is available after qualification?

We believe ongoing development matters.

Support options include supervision, updated resources, continued learning opportunities and access to the wider Messy Minds community.

Working With Messy Minds

What does working with Messy Minds look like?

We always begin with a conversation.

Our first step is understanding your organisation, your people and the outcomes you're hoping to achieve.

From there, we'll recommend the most appropriate approach rather than trying to fit you into a pre-defined solution.

Do you provide a one-size-fits-all solution?

No.

Every organisation is different, and every organisation is at a different stage of its neurodiversity journey.

That's why we work collaboratively with you to create support that reflects your culture, your people and your objectives.

How do you decide what support we need?

We listen.

We'll explore what's already in place, what's working well, where challenges exist and what success would look like for your organisation.

Only then do we recommend a way forward.

What outcomes can we realistically expect?

Every organisation is different, but common outcomes include:

  • Increased understanding of neurodivergent conditions
  • Improved manager confidence
  • Better workplace conversations
  • Earlier support for employees
  • Stronger wellbeing practices
  • Improved retention
  • More inclusive workplace cultures
  • Greater confidence in supporting neurodivergent talent

Investment & Next Steps

How much does it cost?

Because every organisation is different, costs vary depending on your requirements, the number of people being trained and the level of support needed.

We'll be happy to provide a tailored proposal after an initial conversation.

Are payment options available?

Where appropriate, we can discuss payment options as part of the proposal process.

Does any of the fee go to charity?

Yes.

Through our Academy, we support The Brain Charity and the important work they do with people living with neurodivergent conditions.

How do we get started?

Simply get in touch.

We'll arrange an introductory conversation, learn more about your organisation and explore what support is likely to create the greatest impact for your people.
